The Diagnostic Scoring System

 

Congratulations!  You have made the first step in creating or updating your succession plan and by doing so you are conquering the biggest obstacle to succession planning – getting started.  The Dynamic Succession Plan (DSP) Diagnostic Scoring System is a great way to determine where you are in the process.

 

We have developed the DSP Diagnostic Scoring System after studying companies we have worked with over 30 years as well as information in the public domain.  Through a variety of diagnostic tools as well as business experience, we have created a system that scores the threats (and some of the risks) to an enterprise regarding succession management.  We have used the current system to go back historically proving correctly many of the conclusions and scoring methodology.

 

The system has filtered the large data needs customarily required to make a detailed analysis to 62 questions that indicates the state of the current succession plan in place by focusing on the key areas of EVERY succession plan.  It has been used on virtually every type of business and professional practice

 

The key to this system is that it measures risks and threats.  It does not necessarily measure opportunities to make improvements that will result in lower costs, improved risk reduction and higher rates of return.

 

The DSP Diagnostic Scoring System takes about ten minutes to complete.  It is a simple spreadsheet Do not be afraid to answer, “don’t know” since many entrepreneurs’ do.  Questions can be skipped, although the most accurate score comes with answering as many as possible, especially the bolded questions that are key to any succession plan.
